Three VHS Seniors are National Merit Finalists!

Three Vestal High School seniors, Ian Chung, Rayna Cui, and Mia Perfetti, have qualified as finalists in the National Merit Scholarship Program® based on their outstanding academic achievement and commendable scores on their Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying tests (PSAT/NMSQT®). These three members of the Class of 2024 received Certificates of Merit and will be among only 15,000 finalists nationwide considered for approximately 7,100 Merit Scholarships.

“Congratulations to Ian, Rayna, and Mia! Being named a National Merit Finalist is a proud accomplishment for each of these students, and for Vestal High School,” said Christi Smith, the District’s Counseling and Guidance Department Chair. “They have been successful in their academic endeavors in some of our most challenging courses, and it is extremely gratifying to have our students recognized for their dedication and commitment to learning.”
 
The National Merit Scholarship Corporation is an independent, not-for-profit organization that conducts two academic competitions for recognition and college undergraduate scholarships.
