Vestal unveils video explaining FOSS Science Curriculum

Vestal Central School District is using FOSS Science curriculum (Full-Option Science System) in Kindergarten - Grade 8 classrooms this school year. Here is a video explaining the benefits of FOSS Science.

Students use FOSS Science Kits, rolled out at the beginning of the school year, to make explorations of many different scientific principles. This "hands-on" approach to learning is very popular with them and provides an opportunity for students to "find" the answer themselves, rather than having it given to them.
This video features Clayton Avenue fourth-graders comparing series and parallel electrical circuits, captures our students' excitement using this approach to learning:

FOSS - Full Option Science System - was developed at The Lawrence Hall of Science at the University of California, Berkley, using National Science Foundation grants.
