"They are our front-line heroes," said CAPTO President Thomasita Reynolds of the Vestal Food Service staff who have been making and distributing breakfast and lunch meals since March 16 to children 18 years and younger. On Friday, June 12, she and the other CAPTO officers, Amie Pitman (Vice President), Sheri Palm (Secretary) and Krista Soltis (Treasurer), along with Principal Brad Bruce celebrated the cooks and helpers who have continued to care for children through this closure. They gave them each flowers, candy and a gift card to thank them for their dedication.
To date, over 75,000 meals have been distributed in Vestal. Grab & Go meal distribution will continue through August 27. The distribution location is at Vestal High School, 205 Woodlawn Drive, and meals are distributed on Tuesdays and Thursday from 10 a.m. - noon.
