The Vestal Central School District has contracted with Delta
Engineers to conduct radon testing throughout all District buildings. Although
school districts are not required to test for radon, the District will continue
with periodic radon testing in all buildings.Please note the testing devices are not dangerous in any
way, and the District is not soliciting these tests due to any concerns.
Testing will be in accordance with EPA guidelines, and the testing
devices will be deployed in areas of the buildings per these guidelines.
Guidelines require that test devices are not to be disturbed,
that HVAC systems are set for normal occupancy modes and temperatures, and
windows are to remain shut.
Testing will be conducted over the Winter Break, and will continue
periodically over the remaining winter months until all tests are completed.
