Lauren Lee, daughter of Tim and Theresa Lee of Vestal, signed her letter of intent accepting a scholarship to play softball for the Division II Le Moyne Dolphins. The signing took place Tuesday, November 22, in the lobby of the Vestal High School.
A team captain and two-year Metro Division All-Star (2015 & 2016), Lee spent four years on Vestal’s Golden Bears varsity softball squad. Her junior year she hit a career-high .394, and an impressive .500 batting average with runners in scoring position. She has been the ace on the mound her last two seasons, allowing opponents to a .283 batting average against her.
“Lauren is a key component to the Vestal Softball program,” said Coach Jodi Yesensky. “She is a true competitor and maintains a very strong work ethic. Her passion for the game is evident, and she is a role model to her teammates as well as to the youth of our community.”
A Scholar Athlete and member of the National Honor Society, Lee has a head start on her career dreams as a student in the New Visions Health Academy through Broome-Tioga BOCES. When she enrolls at Le Moyne College in the fall, Lee plans to major in Biology or Pre-Med.
