Vestal High School receives National Recognition for Academics

Vestal High School received a silver medal in the "U.S. News & World Report's" 2018 ranking of the Best High Schools in the nation. At 2,064 out of 20,500 public high schools, Vestal ranked among the top 10 percent of high schools in the nation.

Schools were ranked on a variety of criteria indicating college readiness, including performance on state assessments, rigor of coursework and graduation rates. (Vestal's Class of 2017 graduation rate was 94 percent, with 87 percent enrolled in college.) While Advanced Placement courses were included in the magazine's criteria, Vestal's International Baccalaureate offerings were not. Vestal High School is one of only two IB schools in the Greater Binghamton Area.

We want to acknowledge the role that all stakeholders in our District play in this achievement, including our students, their parents, our teachers, support staff and administrators... Everyone in Vestal works together to make a difference in our students' success!
