VHS Students Coordinate CHOW Drive

Vestal High School's student Varsity Club coordinated a schoolwide food drive for the Community Hunger Outreach Warehouse (CHOW). The school's drive kicked off on October 20 as Principal Hepler shared a message with the student body about hunger in our community during morning announcements. She educated students with some very startling statistics...

 - More than 8,000 children in Broome County live in households that struggle to put food on the table

- CHOW distributes almost 2 million pounds of food every year.

Vestal staff, students and their families were very pleased to share their resources and work together to help CHOW stock its shelves going into the holiday season. They donated 2,250 non-perishable food items in the drive that ended November 14.

Check out the Vestal High School home page for a slideshow of photos showing the Varsity Club students helping CHOW load their truck with the food collected.
